I was
born in the Netherlands and migrated to Australia in
1981 together with my husband and our little daughter.
We first moved to Sydney and then to the Blue Mountains
and finally settled in Queensland, where we are very
happy.
Painting is something I only started to get interested
in at a later stage in my life. When I started painting
I realised that this is something I should have been
doing all along. I'm proud to say that I'm a mainly
self-taught artist, I love painting, it gives me an
ongoing buzz and takes me to another world.
My artwork is
often painted in strong colour with realistic detail,
bordering on surrealism. Inspired by my environment and
following my imagination, I like to paint with oil paint
on canvas to create an image that tells its own story
and I also like to invite people to create their own. I
work from home in my studio at King Scrub in the Dayboro
Valley in Queensland.
Over the years I have sold my paintings to
private collections in Australia and overseas. I have
exhibited in various venues in South East Queensland and
have won several awards for my paintings.
