Michael’s
photography work spans back to 1991. He was so successful with
his earlier images that he took out photography awards, then
began teaching photography at TAFE shortly afterwards...and
still does this to this very day! He runs personal photography
workshops from Dayboro and has been a regular instructor at
Clifton Art Workshops in Clifton, The Lamington Light Festival
at O’Reilly’s Guesthouse and guest speaker and judge at The
Queensland Camera Group in Bardon. His work has appeared on
television, in magazines and books here in Australia as well as
oversees.
Although
Michael shoots in a digital format and is capable of
manipulating images, he prefers to take a purest approach to
photography, believing that the study of light and shape takes
precedence over computer work. His passion is photographing
places and people of interest and significant meaning, so on the
reverse side of each of his images he also includes details of
why he photographed the scene and where the picture was taken.
When
Michael is not out teaching, travelling and photographing the
world around us, he likes to write and perform in musical
theatre. His vocal talents have often been heard in shows by
Dayboro's own amateur theatre group The Dayboro Players as well
as the Dayboro Combined Churches Choir. His official photography
website is located www.mfp.com.au
